Kazakhstan letter of invitation (LOI), visa rules and E-visa

Here’s a quick update regarding the Kazakhstan visa, as we receive a lot of queries about how to get a visa for Kazakhstan. Look, Kazakhstan is part of a few countries that require an invitation letter for a visa. This means that the visa is normally easy to get if you have the invitation letter. If you don’t have it, then it becomes a bit difficult.

Earlier, Kazakhstan used to issue visas easily, as it’s a beautiful country and slightly developed. Out of all the countries in Central Asia, Kazakhstan is the most developed and beautiful, and it's a bit wealthy too. So, they used to issue visas easily, but then they made it a bit difficult and had stopped issuing them for a while. However, it has reopened now. Our partner agency in Kazakhstan informed us that they can process the invitation letter. It takes about 10-12 days to receive the invitation letter, but once you have it approved by the migration department, getting the visa becomes relatively easier. The chances are more than 90%.

That said, I would like to tell you that the invitation letter for Kazakhstan is a bit expensive. Its cost is above $100. And after that, you have to pay separately for the visa as well. So, in total, the visa process can cost around 50,000 to 60,000 Pakistani rupees, which is a bit expensive. But some people still want to go to Kazakhstan, either for work, to attend a conference, or for some appointment, so they need it.

To get the invitation letter, you need to provide some documents, which include filling out a form where you need to provide your complete information. After receiving the invitation letter, you need to go to the embassy (MBC) and apply for the visa with the invitation letter, so you can get the visa sticker in your passport. You need to mention in the form the country where you will apply for the visa.

So, if you're in Pakistan, you can apply from Pakistan. If you live in another country like Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, or any European country, you can apply from there as well. If you’re traveling to multiple countries, you can also apply from the country you’re visiting, for example, if you don’t want to apply from Pakistan. Sometimes, the MBC in Pakistan can be a little difficult. You know how the Pakistani staff there tends to be rude and difficult to deal with. So applying from another country is easier and more straightforward. It’s much easier to apply in other countries because they either have foreign staff or original Kazakh staff, and you’ll get your visa.

The MBC has its own fees for the visa. You should make sure to check with them regarding the documents required, because once the invitation letter arrives, you’ll need to know what documents you need for the visa. For example, if they require hotel bookings, flight bookings, etc., you’ll need to provide those as well. These requirements differ for each embassy.
